Embrace vulnerability - build in the open

Building in public is both exciting and terrifying. When you share your work openly, you’re exposing not just your progress but your mistakes and insecurities, too. It goes against the instinct to keep everything hidden until it’s perfect. But I’ve realized that vulnerability is essential in all areas of life.
Being vulnerable means being accountable for your actions and outcomes, accepting both the successes and failures, and growing from the experience.
That’s why I’m building my latest app for Swedish youth to train for their AM driving license theory exams in the open.
This project isn’t just about creating a functional app; it’s about learning, improving, and growing along the way. It’s about challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone, and letting others see the full journey - flaws and all.
And that’s okay.
When you know others are watching, there’s no room for excuses, and there’s a motivation to show up and do the work, even on the tough days.
I’d rather take a shot at creating something meaningful, even if it doesn’t go perfectly, than keep it all hidden away until it’s “safe” to reveal.
What’s Next?
This first week is all about design. My plan is to complete the entire design work in Figma, focusing on simplicity and ease of use for young users preparing for their driving license theory exams.
My goal is to move fast and ship this app within 5-10 weeks. I’m committed to sharing weekly updates.
Stay tuned!
